Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Smithville, OH Wayne County Community Federal Credit Union (WCCFCU) is seeking a qualified individual to fill our Chief Financial Officer position. This is a key leadership role working closely with the CEO, the Board of Directors as well as the rest of the leadership team in growing the credit union through developing and moving forward the organization’s culture, mission and strategic plan. The successful candidate needs to have exemplary leadership skills and demonstrate a strong drive for excellence.

Key roles include the following:

  • Provide guidance to the credit union’s operations and strategic direction through excellence in financial reporting, asset liability management (ALM), profitability analysis, etc.
  • Enhance all areas under their leadership and ensure they are operating as effectively and efficiently as possible.
  • Maximize the credit union’s long term financial well-being through effective management of its investment portfolio.
  • Develop an exceptional service experience to both credit union members as well as team members.
  • Create a challenging and highly rewarding work experience for all team members
  • Ensure that the credit union is compliant with all organizational policies as well as relevant laws and regulations.


Qualifications for this position include the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; graduate degree preferred
  • Three or more years of experience in the field of accounting or finance. Experience in the banking industry a significant plus.
  • Strong understanding of finance, accounting practices/procedures (including GAAP), investments, internal controls, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • The ability to develop team members through training, coaching and mentoring.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills.
  • Solid expertise with Excel and at least moderate expertise with other key software applications (e.g., Word, etc.).
  • Knowledge of other functions (e.g., IT, Human Resources, Lending, etc.) is a significant plus.
