This position allows for an optional hybrid work arrangement which includes a combination of both in-office and remote work arrangements. (Maximum of two days remote, three days in-office). To be eligible for the program, employees must complete a minimum of 6 months of continuous, regular employment, be in good standing, and submit a formal hybrid work application prior to being eligible for hybrid work, pending supervisor approval. Work schedules will be established by the employee's supervisor according to business needs. Working locations and schedules may be altered at management discretion.

Title:                Lending Support Specialist

Department:    Lending Support

Reports to:      Lending Support Supervisor

FLSA:              Non-exempt

Job Grade:      7 (starting hourly rate $20.00-$21.28)

Job Purpose:   Provide support to members and credit union personnel related to lending.  Support lending operations by accurately completing administrative tasks necessary to ensure the credit union is protected from losses.  Provide support to front line staff on products, services, and systems related to lending operations. 

Essential Job Results:

JOB SPECIFIC RESULTS

  1. Provide Credit Union support for our lending products including, but not limited to, Warranty, GAP, Debt Protection, Depreciation Protection, and Credit Life/Disability, by processing all claims, working with members, posting payments, reporting, contacting third-party providers, and GL reconciliations.
  2. Ensure protection of the Credit Union’s collateral position by obtaining mortgage satisfaction on all Home Equity/HELOCs financed by the Credit Union and preparing mortgage releases at payoff by reviewing reports and verifying payoffs.
  3. Facilitate First Mortgage servicing by gathering documents, completing an audit check, preparing fundings, retaining images, tracking collateral position, and forwarding to Mortgage Servicer.  Process First Mortgage monthly and escrow payments as needed and perform account reconciliation for Mortgage Payments monthly.
  4. Perform Escrow management for the credit union by mailing notices, disbursing payments, performing annual analysis, verifying against the member’s account, and answering support questions.
  5. Ensure protection of the Credit Union’s collateral position by obtaining lien satisfactions on all vehicle loans financed by the Credit Union.  Responsible for tracking and communicating with members, Credit Union personnel, and/or third parties as needed to perfect security interest and ensure that security interest is retained throughout the life of the loan.  Upon payoff, responsible for preparing lien releases by reviewing reports and verifying collateral and payoff.
  6. Facilitate the imaging and retention of mortgage documents by receiving and imaging payoff documentation, original mortgages, and loan files. 
  7. Ensure credit union compliance related to Adverse Actions and Credit Disputes.
  8. Support the credit union’s Student Loan partner to address questions and complete daily duties involved in with reporting.
  9. Offer Support as needed by addressing questions and researching issues.
  10. Provide lending related reporting and analytics.
  11. Serve as a back up to other positions within the Support Services team.
  12. Offer lending support to members and Credit Union personnel by addressing questions, performing payment adjustments, researching questions, troubleshooting problems, updating lending forms, and/or coordinating interest rate system changes.
  13. Assist with lending related projects by working with the project management team and/or upgrading the Credit Union’s loan origination systems.

1.  Maintains member and employee confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential and sharing on a business-related as-needed basis only.

2.  Engages in problem resolution by clarifying the member’s and/or employee’s complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution; and keeping the supervisor informed of problems and solutions.

3.  Complies with UKFCU policies and procedures by enforcing and adhering to internal UKFCU procedures and board-established policies.

4.  Complies with federal, state and local regulations and legal requirements by enforcing and adhering to requirements.

5.  Maintains professional and technical knowledge by maintaining an awareness of competitors’ rates and terms, industry trends and technology; attending staff meetings; identifying opportunities to attend seminars that enhance skills and maintain knowledge of new products that could assist in improving operational effectiveness; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; and participating in professional societies.

6.  Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing corporate and individual goals and other related results as needed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Two to five years of similar or related experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Advanced Excel functions preferred
  • Ten-key calculator, general PC and computer keyboarding experience.
  • Ability to communicate with others one-on-one, fielding questions.
  • Strong, friendly voice and demeanor, good diction.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals with American currency, and to apply these concepts to practical solutions. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent with American currency, and to apply these concepts to practical solutions.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions while dealing with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Ability to write reports, correspondence and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently.
