The Programmer Team Lead will play a key role in an innovative and growing technology company. This role will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer. The Programmer Team Lead will oversee a team of Oracle programmers within the larger DevOps team. The Programmer Team Lead will work to actively manage the development pipeline to ensure that SLAs and key milestones are met. The Programmer Team lead will work closely with the Product Manager to review new product enhancements to ensure successful implementations of said enhancements. The Programmer Team Lead will have programming duties as well and will be hands on keyboard working on active development projects. Operation centric responsibilities for this role will include ensuring that production code is tuned, our clients are supported, and all aspects of our products are up to date.

Requirements

Responsibilities

•         Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of programmers, providing guidance on technical issues, project planning, and career development.
•         Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
•         Facilitate regular team meetings, code reviews, and individual check-ins to maintain team alignment with project goals and company standards.
•         Design, develop, and maintain high-quality code within the Oracle technology stack, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
•         Actively participate in hands-on coding, debugging, and troubleshooting for complex projects and tasks.
•         Oversee and contribute to codebase maintenance, ensuring best practices in version control, code documentation, and testing.
•         Collaborating with the Chief Technology Officer and Product Manager on continuously improving the product, architecture, and efficiency of supporting the application.
•      Manage the day-to-day testing activities of the Dev team which includes resource allocation, escalating and resolving software defects and issues, participating in release testing activities.
•      Gather product & business requirements, gut check new ideas and proposals, balance tech-debt and delivery of product functionality.
•      Accountable to the applications availability, performance and participate in high priority escalation calls.
•      Effectively manage multiple highly visible priorities at a time.
•      Influence or provide input to cost and capacity forecasting and planning activities.
•      Ensuring production is managed, supported, and controlled with the appropriate level of governance and agility.
•      Help compiling internally developed releases.
•      Managing development pipeline to defined SLA's.
•      Performance tuning and DBA activities.
•      Client communication.

Qualifications

Mandatory Skills:

•         Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on data warehousing and analytics solutions.
•        At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or team lead role, preferably within the financial services, credit union sector.
•         Experience managing and leading a team of programmers through the software development life cycle
•         Proficiency with Oracle databases and related technologies is required; experience with other database or analytics platforms is a plus.
•         Excellent programming/scripting skills in Oracle PL/SQL or like scripting language.
•         Strong coding and debugging skills with an emphasis on efficiency, quality, and maintainability.
•         Oracle DBA experience.
•         Good understanding of Financial Services data.

 Good to have:

•         Oracle Analytics experience an asset.
•         Oracle APEX experience an asset.
•         SaaS and multi-tenant development experience
•         Experience working in an Agile environment.
•         Knowledge of additional programming languages, such as PL/SQL, Java, or Python.

 Soft Skills:

•     Strong command on spoken and written English.
•     Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities.
•     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a technical team.
