General Summary:
The Business Lending Assistant will be responsible for a variety of duties in support of the Business Lending team. This person will provide administrative and operational support including loan portfolio maintenance, loan servicing and overall loan administration.
Key Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist the business lending team with loan administration support functions including portfolio management, new loan onboarding, organizing loan files, and gathering updated financial documents from borrowers.
- Assist with the management of the loan portfolio and completion of annual financial reviews.
- Prepare and maintain reports assigned by management.
- Act as a point of contact for existing borrowers related to them providing updated financial information.
- Assist with loan operations which entails boarding new loans onto the core system, performing account maintenance (i.e. loan extensions, modifications, payment adjustments, etc.), and preparing reports as needed.
- Promotes and maintains a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards to work effectively with members, co-workers, management and vendors.
- Keeps abreast of industry developments including but not limited to changes in regulations and technology.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures and Banking/Credit Union Regulations.
- Performs additional duties as required.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred. Will consider qualified candidates with proven work experience in a similar role at a bank or credit union.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a financial institution or related field.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting or financial principles and practices.
- Sense of urgency, strong member service skills, strong time management and workload management skills, attention to detail, willingness and ability to contribute to a team-based environment, ability to adapt easily to change, strong communication skills and a desire to provide best-in-class service to the Members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
