Job Summary:
The Card Services Manager leads the operational direction of Coastal's card servicing functions, ensuring our members receive secure, seamless, and responsive debit and credit card experiences; oversees daily operations; manages vendor relationships; and supports fraud mitigation efforts while driving process improvements and compliance. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of our card programs and enhancing member satisfaction through efficient service delivery and innovation.
The Card Services Manager also plays a key role in developing a high-performing team, aligning card operations with Coastal's broader payments initiatives, and ensuring we remain agile in a rapidly evolving digital payments landscape.
As a key contributor to the Coastal team, your responsibilities will be:
(30%) Card Operations Oversight – Manage day-to-day operations of debit and credit card servicing, including transaction processing, disputes, maintenance, and escalations. Ensure compliance with card network rules, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. Maintain strong vendor relationships and monitor service levels.
(30%) Member Experience & Service Quality – Ensure timely and accurate resolution of member card issues. Track member feedback and implement service enhancements. Foster a service-oriented culture that aligns with Coastal's values.
(20%) Process Improvement & Reporting – Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements. Support implementation of new tools, technologies, and workflows. Prepare reports and insights for leadership.
(20%) Stakeholder Collaboration – Collaborate with departments such as Member Services, Compliance, IT, and Marketing to ensure alignment on payment initiatives and member communication.

Experience:
- Five years of credit/debit card processing and digital payment systems experience; eight years of experience preferred
- Experience with NCUA regulations, PCI compliance rules, or other compliance standards relevant to payment operations
- Team leadership experience
Education:
- Related bachelor's degree or four years additional experience in lieu of degree
