General Purpose: Provide leadership, strategic thinking, and action to identify, plan, and execute strategies to achieve excellence in the member experience across all member touchpoints.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overall strategy and leadership in regional markets, Contact Center, ITMs, Cards and Payment Services, wealth management, and insurance services (CUSO).
- Ensure that each market region maintains a comprehensive approach to community outreach and development, strategic market growth, and overall business development.
- Working with the market Vice Presidents, create the market plan by setting pricing and profitability strategies within the markets and communities served.
- Through the market Vice Presidents, strengthen relationships within the communities served to better understand their needs and align products and services accordingly.
- Lead efforts to plan, organize, motivate, and control resources, budget, and objectives to achieve strategic goals.
- Lead the development, production, and maintenance of credit union's products, services, and delivery channels. Develop strategies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the respective delivery systems.
- Conduct financial analysis of products and services designed to maximize profits and broaden services.
- Lead sales production strategies to meet organizational goals across products and services.
- Develop productive and collaborative partnerships with other executive team members and organizational leaders to achieve strategic goals.
- Cultivate beneficial business relationships within the communities served that enable the organization to meet overall strategic objectives.
- Continuously develop high potential employees in markets served by providing support, observational coaching, regular individual coaching, and mentorship.
- Work within markets to support a community presence and outreach that defines the credit union’s cultural values and brand.
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in select community organizations, committees, and Chamber of Commerce functions. Promote and maintain a positive image of the Credit Union.
- Remain current on changes within the legal, regulatory, economic, competitive, and technology environments that may affect the member experience.
- Implement strategies that are in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.
- Assist in the establishment, maintenance, and monitoring of internal controls, as well as policies and procedures for the member services area.
Job Knowledge:
- Knowledge of financial institution products, services, and delivery channels.
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of the financial industry, including an understanding of the Federal Reserve System; the check clearing process; and the legal theory of negotiable instruments.
- Knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar, composition and arithmetic.
- Knowledge of Credit Union rules, products, services, regulations and procedures.
- Knowledge of Credit Union philosophies, techniques and practices and its interrelated functions.
- Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the organization's products and services.

- Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts, statistics, and financial data to develop strategies and solutions.
- Working knowledge of computers including personal computers and related software, in-house systems, and basic office machines.
Job Qualifications (Education/Experience):
Job requires a four-year college level of language, math and reasoning skills. The ideal candidate should have at least five years of executive experience in a similar role within a retail financial institution (leading multiple branches and multi-level management is preferred). Must possess a high level of strategic and operational understanding of finance and accounting, marketing, operations, and proven experience in strategic decision making. This position requires a high level of written and verbal communication skills and strong proficiency in computer systems and technology.
This position requires flexibility and high professional standards of personal appearance, conduct, judgment, and the highest level of confidentiality.

Work Environment/Physical Activities
Occasional travel to one of BHFCU’s branch locations or attendance at community events may be required.
Physical Requirements
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.
Mental and/or Emotional Requirements
Must be able to perform job functions with supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on confidential matters.
