About the Role: 

SCU Credit Union is seeking a skilled Commercial Credit Analyst to join our Commercial Lending Division. In this role, you will independently analyze commercial real estate, construction, and C&I loans to assess creditworthiness, mitigate risk, and ensure policy compliance. This position plays a key part in supporting sound credit decisions and maintaining a healthy commercial loan portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct financial analysis on business loan applications and existing credit relationships
• Spread financial statements and evaluate cash flow, collateral, and borrower strength
• Prepare clear, concise credit memorandums for new approvals, renewals, modifications, and annual reviews
• Approve loans within lending authority and provide recommendations for others
• Monitor loan performance and assist with portfolio management
• Collaborate with commercial lenders and other internal teams to gather relevant borrower information
• Review appraisals, environmental reports, and other credit-related documentation
• Stay current on economic trends, industry data, and lending regulations
• Ensure compliance with federal and state lending laws (BSA, ECOA, HMDA, etc.)

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in commercial banking, credit analysis, or      loan review
• Formal credit training preferred
• Working knowledge of SBA 7(a), 504, and Express loan programs
• Familiarity with Abrigo Sageworks and Jack Henry is a plus
• Strong analytical, written communication, and decision-making skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
