Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to oversee and enhance our inventory accounting processes across the company. This role will collaborate cross-functionally to develop and improve costing workflows, ensuring accuracy in reporting and supporting business decisions that drive profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all cost accounting functions, including development and continuous improvement of standard costing practices.
Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing tasks, ensuring accuracy and completeness of cost-related entries.
Analyze actual profit margins and identify cost-saving opportunities to improve company profitability.
Facilitate monthly cycle counts and report inventory variances.
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, R&D, and Operations to cost new items.
Support cross-functional teams with accounting input on key projects and initiatives.
Maintain and update fixed asset listings and depreciation schedules.
Provide analytical support for budgeting and forecasting processes.
Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
Education Required: Bachelor’s in accounting or finance preferred.
Experience Required: 1-3 years Cost Accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
Specific knowledge of cost accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required.
Proficiency with ERP systems required.
Lean manufacturing and/or activity-based costing required.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines with little supervision.
Process improvement minded.
Ability to manage confidential information.
