About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity at Swiss Re where you'll focus on selecting top clients and building a robust portfolio within our innovative Portfolio Underwriting initiative. You'll blend world-class origination, client management, and underwriting excellence to develop meaningful relationships across executive and management levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct end-to-end underwriting analyses of core business including risk selection, costing, contracts review and structuring
- Grow the core business by developing opportunities in the portfolio in collaboration with relevant specialists
- Drive the principle of "right service right client" throughout all business interactions
- Develop and nurture broker relationships to maintain a healthy pipeline of client opportunities
- Apply strategic thinking to balance risk and profitability in portfolio management

About You
You're a relationship builder with a strategic mindset who can balance analytical rigor with exceptional communication skills. You take pride in your organizational and time management abilities and thrive in collaborative environments where you can contribute to team success while growing professionally.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Minimum 1-3 years of either Property or Casualty insurance or reinsurance underwriting experience or experience in underwriting support roles
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated analytical and decision-making capabilities
- Exceptional communication and client management skills for building relationships with clients and brokers
- Proven negotiation and judgment skills in complex business situations
These are additional nice to haves:
- Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or other relevant certifications
- Experience with portfolio management and optimization techniques
Additional Information:
- Travel required: 20-25%
- Work arrangement: Hybrid work model with minimum in-office presence 3 days per week
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office three days per week. This role is not eligible for either relocation assistance or visa sponsorship.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $111,000. The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
