- Senior Accountant
Description
We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to support and assist the CFO and CIO with:
- Administration of day-to-day accounting and management of books for a number of entities including an investment partnership, various operating entities, a private foundation and numerous trusts.
- Money manager and bank reconciliations, general ledger entries.
- Tracking capital calls and distributions for investments.
- Assisting with the preparation of quarterly individual, trust and investment partnership financial reports.
- Compiling and managing information for preparation of complex entity and trust tax returns, communicating with outside tax preparers, in-house preparation of simple 1065 and 1120S tax returns.
- Collaborate with other staff members on any issues that arise.
- Work with the CFO and CIO on special projects as needed.
- Respond to inquiries from family members as requested.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field, CPA preferred.
At least five years of accounting experience working for, or with, a family office, hedge fund, private equity fund, or fund administration, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of accounting principles and strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
Comfortable interacting with high level professionals, both internally and externally.
Strong proficiency with accounting software, Excel and Word.
Experience with preparation and review of 1065 and 1120S tax returns a plus.
Familiarity with alternative investments space, including hedge funds, real estate, private equity or venture capital a plus.
